Relay for Life!

Hey everyone, I'm going to be posting earrings today. They're mostly going to be one of each pair. I know I don't post as many earrings as I should. So today, I'm going to post earrings!

While I take photos, learn about Relay for Life!

One of my readers, Yim is participating her time to help our the American Cancer Society.

And here's some info she asked me to share with you guys.

So my school Albany College of Pharmacy in New York is holding a Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society. My friends and I decided to participate this year because we believe that all of the money raised is going towards a great cure. Any donation amount would help and we're trying to find as many sponsors as we can. Here is the link to the site for anyone who wants to make a direction donation: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?px=14571840&fr_id=20640&pg=personal
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and spreading the word

My Reason to Relay

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is more than just an event to me. It is my personal opportunity to help save lives from cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society.

It's amazing to think that millions of people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Somebody close to us may be one of them.

But, by taking part in Relay, I am helping the American Cancer Society save lives by:

Helping people stay well by helping them take steps to prevent cancer or detect it early, when it’s most treatable
Helping people get well by being in their corner around the clock to guide them through every step of their cancer experience
Finding cures by funding groundbreaking research that helps us understand cancer’s causes, determine how best to prevent it and discover new ways to cure it
Fighting back by working with lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and rally communities worldwide to join the fight
Please support my efforts by making a donation or by joining my Relay For Life team. Together, we have the power to help create a world where cancer can no longer claim another year of anyone’s life.

Has anyone you participate in Relay for Life?
I remember my best friend in college did the 24hr relay with her team.
I went out to share my support & you should too!
Both my Grandma and Grandpa are cancer survivors, so it really hits close to home.
I'm so blessed to have both of them in my life : )

I haven't participated in the Relay for Life yet, but I have donated to the fundraisers held by my school's team! It is definitely going to a great cause. Just about everyone knows someone who has or has had cancer. It touches pretty much everyone, so it's good to donate to such a cause.

Aww Steph that's so kind of you! I've participated in Relay for Life C: I actually have a funny story to tell you. So my freshman year, year I had Business Essentials, and our teacher wanted us to help create a way to raise money for relay for life. And it was a project where it was Girl vs. Guys to see who gets the most people to participate in our activity. The girl chose building a stair step with a high heel on the very top symbolizing that we are going all the way to the top for this cause and we all decorated buttons, and the guys chose to do a Relay for Life T-Shirt cannon launcher, where it basically well, is a cannon that launches out T-shirts xD

And so the judges ended up declaring the winner after a weeks worth, and I must say our stair step was beautiful! The guys cannon was equally impressive because it was so funny how they thought of this. Well, in the end, the guys won because of their creativity, not that the girls didn't have any, and we got points taken off because I drew the shoe facing the wrong way. (whoopsies!) So the big prize ended up being cupcakes with elmo and hello kitty rings, and it was so funny how the guys were showing them off afterwards xD

Thanks for sharing. I have not heard of the Relay for Life, but my father is a 4 time cancer survivor! All 4 times it was a different type of cancer. I feel so blessed to have him still with me.

Thank you ladies sooo much for taking the time to read this, it means more to me than you guys can imagine. My grandma unfortunately passed away because of lung cancer but I hope that by participating in Relay for Life I can honor her memory with my own hardwork. Donating blood is also a wonderful way of contributing. I actually gave blood for the first time this past month, I'm definately going to donate everytime the Red Cross stops by my school. I firmly believe that we young able-bodied people should do as much for the world as we can so by the time we're older the next generation can take over (hopefully lol) =D

I've done both the Relay For Life and The Walk for Breast Cancer. It's fun and a great experience. Plus you don't have to run/jog the entire way, you can walk and enjoy nature :)
